It’s Time For The GOP To Stand Up and Be Counted

For many years, the New Britain Township Republicans have won nearly all township elections, primarily by finding good citizens, and not just “politicians” to run for township office. We have operated under the belief that that “if you try to do the right thing everyday, people will notice, and good things will follow”.

Do we still believe that?  Certainly we do, and these truths remain as valid today as ever, despite recent Republican problems at the state and national level.

Is Republicanism on the decline? - Of course not - The Republican Party has always had a special calling despite the challenges - to advance the principles of freedom, to limit government influence over our daily lives, and to respect the dignity and worth of every individual.  All of these principals, and our conservative family values, remain important to our success….they never go out of style.

Remember, We are the Old Republican Party that was the anti-slavery Party, the pro-women's voting rights Party; and the anti-segregation Party.

And We are the New Republican Party that will continue to revitalize, empower, and uplift our township, and the party that will continue to help keep New Britain Township a Great Place to Live.  Great communities such as ours do not just happen. Our Republican candidates have done their jobs for over 20 years, and they will continue to do so as long as we stick to our ethics and our objectives.

We are also the party that brought about the construction of Peace Valley Park, the Open Space Preservation program, who fought for the 202 Bypass and Parkway, who initiated the Tri-Municipal Community Parade and many similar events and most recently provided the leadership needed to save our local Ambulance Corps.

Have you ever noticed that we don’t need to run our candidates with the tired and thoughtless old “Time for a Change” campaign slogan…typically used by those without a clue as to what it really takes to operate a municipality such as ours. That is because experience does count, and because we work hard to properly prepare our candidates for public “service”, and not just for public office.

As President Ronald Reagan stated so well, “our principles also include the safety of Americans everywhere and the security of our great nation”. At one time it was a War on Communism, before that a War on Fascism, and now a War on Terrorism.

It is important that our community leaders and all citizens maintain connection with our core Republican values, and that we continue to govern at all levels with solid Republican principles. And it is up to us - the Republican base - to make sure that we do.

It will be an exciting year for all of us as we continue to grow the organization, as we increase our public profile, and as we have a lot of fun along the way. We will surely enjoy some great speakers and events this year. Please do get involved with all of our committees, our events, and our projects. It is up to each and every New Britain Township Republican to bring about a Renewed and Vibrant Republican Presence in our community.
