Mabrie Griffith Jackson moved to Plano with her family in 1970. She was elected to Plano City Council (Place 3) in May 2008 with more than 63% of the votes cast. Mabrie currently serves on Texas Municipal League's (TML) Legislative Policy on Municipal Revenue and Taxation Committee, TML Resolutions Committee, National League of Cities' Human Development Policy and Advocacy Committee, and the North Texas Commission Board of Directors. A strong advocate for the safety and security of area youth, Mabrie recently served as President of the Collin County Child Protective Services Board, and is a past board member of the Assistance Center of Collin County, Visiting Nurses Association of North Texas and Forest Creek Women’s Club. She frequently speaks to teens about online safety. A champion of conservative values, Mabrie also serves as Vice President of Conner Harrington Republican Women. Mabrie is a past recipient of Inside Collin County Business’ “21 Leaders For The 21st Century” award, the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Community Involvement award, and has received recognition as City of Plano “Volunteer of the Month” for work at the Day Labor Center.
Mabrie brings to the campaign over twenty years of business experience with international technology leaders. She is an twelve-year veteran of Microsoft Corporation, driving the development of partnerships with multinational technology services providers. For nine years prior to Microsoft, Mabrie was a Marketing and Communication Specialist at EDS. She is also a former Legislative Assistant in the Texas House of Representatives. A 1982 graduate of Plano Senior High School and a 1985 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mabrie holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
Mabrie is married to Marshall Jackson, whom she met in the second grade at Shepard Elementary. They are the proud parents of two sons, James and Mitchell. Mabrie and Marshall both come from families dedicated to public and volunteer service and are active in many community organizations. The Jackson family attends Chase Oaks Church.
